We Promise To Only Talk About This Once
It’s the Monday after Halloween and we here at Care Collective hope you had a spooky, frightful, and restful weekend! Now we’re going to ruin it by mentioning what’s happening tomorrow.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 5th, is election day, and we encourage you to go out and vote! The decisions made tomorrow will affect each and every one of us in different ways, and they’ll affect the mission of Care Collective, too. Visit the links below for information on where and how to vote.
With that out of the way, we wanted to share a few fun things. Our team got to attend the US Conference on Poverty and Basic Needs a couple weeks ago! The conference, put on by the National Diaper Bank Network and the Alliance for Period Supplies, is a chance for basic needs banks to share strategies, talk shop, and celebrate the work we all get to do!
We cannot precisely explain what we learned without getting lost in the weeds of diaper supplier logistics, but we do want to thank everyone who made it possible for us to expand our knowledge and network. Thank you to our volunteers for helping us work ahead, our donors for giving us the flexibility to be out of office for a week, and our incredible community partners for getting products out to the people of Kalamazoo in our absence.
We’re not going to tell you how many products we’ve distributed this year because we’re super close to a really cool number and it would ruin the fun a little bit. But as we slide into the end of the year, we feel nothing but gratitude for the support we’ve received from you. We cannot wait to celebrate Care Collective’s second year with you! This work is nothing without you.
