Join Us For Our Last Volunteer Event!
You read that right. We’re only having one more volunteer event or, more accurately, one more event in our current warehouse. We’re moving next month to a much bigger warehouse, and we could use your help pulling it off!
On Saturday, June 15th, you can join us from 9 am to noon and help us move to our new warehouse. We’ve got a lot of stuff to move, a lot of set up to do, and we imagine it’s going to be pretty warm out so come prepared and hydrated. Kids are welcome and we will provide lunch after!
Aside from signing a lease, May was not without its excitement. May 20th to the 28th marked Period Poverty Awareness Week. We had an incredible kick-off event at LFG, received a proclamation from Kalamazoo’s mayor, and were on the front page of WMUK! We can’t get too deep into it here, so visit the link below to learn more about how Care Collective raised awareness of period poverty in May!
The fun in June doesn’t stop with our new warehouse! The beginning of June marks the beginning of Pride month, a month that is very close to a staff and board that are as queer as they are caring. You can hang out with us on June 8th at Kalamazoo’s Pride Celebration and learn a little more about how period poverty is an important topic in the LGBTQIA+ community.
All of this wasn’t easy to pull off! Having the capacity to grow is only possible with the support of our volunteers and donors. If you want to help us continue growing towards a more caring future, you can visit the links below to learn more about ways to get involved.
